Our People

Our people are at the core of everything we do.

Dev/Null Security is built by Security Specialists who have spent their careers designing, running, and defending security and observability platforms in complex, high-pressure environments.

We believe great security outcomes come from strong relationships, clear thinking, and teams who take ownership. That mindset runs through everyone at Dev/Null, whether they are visible here or working quietly behind the scenes.

Below is a snapshot of our team and the skills and experience they bring to our customers.

Mendon Dornbrook

Mendon Dornbrook

CEO

Mendon Dornbrook

Mendon comes to Dev/Null from a career in management consulting focusing on IT strategy and turnaround, new business implementation, joint ventures, and software development. During that time, he frequently liased with infosec leadership to coordinate their activities. Joining Dev/Null, he brings broad tactical and strategic experience to bear. His vision is to empower Dev/Null’s customers to build a robust culture of continuous improvement, enabling them to permanently assess and prevent their greatest threats on an ongoing basis.

Mendon has spent much of his career working with large, highly regulated enterprises. Where many of his team members have deep technical knowledge, he brings to bear a view of assurance, process, and politics to ensure that they are able to operate within novel, complex environments with diverse stakeholders. His experience in finance, accounting, program management, and product ownership gives him a wide view of the needs of organizations and appreciation for the constraints of the practical applications of security, helping him to balance the importance of confidentiality, integrity, and availability with the needs of the business.

When he isn’t working, he is a husband and father of two. He enjoys hiking, rowing, and tabletop board games.

Dave Van De Velde

Senior Security Consultant

Dave Van De Velde

Dave is a highly experienced Identity and Access Management (IAM) and Identity Governance & Administration (IGA) specialist with a strong track record of delivering secure, scalable solutions for complex enterprise environments. Based in Norwich, Dave brings deep technical expertise and strategic insight to every engagement, helping organisations strengthen their security posture while enabling seamless user experience.

Outside of his professional role, Dave has a long-standing love for programming. This passion has led him to design and build mobile applications using React Native, exploring everything from concept to deployment.
